Why We Made Them

Chub rub is one of those things people have just accepted as an unavoidable part of life if you've got thick thighs. The burning, the redness, the way it can make you want to curse summer. Before Snag, the solutions were deodorant sticks you had to reapply every few hours, anti-chafing balms that wore off by lunchtime, or bulky cycling shorts that were hot, uncomfortable and visible under anything fitted. None of them actually solved the problem. They just managed it.

So we made these. The Original Chub Rub Shorts®, made with our innovative cooling yarn. They help your body release heat faster so you stay cooler when temperatures rise. The fabric feels silky, breathable and light against your skin, with quick-drying performance that makes them perfect for everything from busy days to warm nights out. They stop thigh chafing, reduce sweat and cling, and stay exactly where you want them with no rolling or digging in. Ethically made and fit tested across a wide range of bodies, they’re available in inclusive UK sizes 4 to 36. The Details

The Fit

The waistband sits softly at your natural waist without digging in or rolling down. The leg bands grip gently at the thigh without rolling up, no matter how much you move. Every size is knitted with different widths, not just different lengths, so they fit your body rather than fight it. No bulk, no visible line under clothing and no readjusting. Just put them on and forget they're there. They've also been developed with our cooling technology to keep your body up to 1 °C cooler wherever the fabric touches!

The Sizing

We don't do S, M or L. 99% of our customers get the right size first time, thanks to our sizing matrix that takes into account your height, dress size and body shape. If your first order isn't quite right, just get in touch, and we'll find your perfect fit, free of charge.

The Durability

These shorts are built to last. Made from the same premium tights fabric as our tights, with a special cooling yarn woven in to keep you up to one degree cooler. Because they fit properly and stay put all day, the fabric stays strong and keeps its properties wear after wear. Built to be worn hundreds of times, not just a few.

Care Instructions

Machine wash with similar colours inside a pillowcase or one of our washbags. Squeeze dry and never tumble dry or expose to direct heat. Treat them well, and they'll return the favour.

Why Snag

Made in Italy

These shorts are made in the same small town just north of Lake Garda as our tights, by the same family who have spent their whole lives mastering this craft. This isn't a factory we found in a catalogue. It's a relationship built over years, on shared standards and mutual respect. We've worked with them since day one because they obsess over fit, comfort and quality as much as we do.

The Ethics

We use Nylon 66, a premium Italian fibre that lasts significantly longer than the standard Nylon 6 found in most tights products. We're also moving toward Nylon 11, derived from castor oil farmed in India, supporting communities in arid regions who depend on that crop. Products featuring this yarn have Castor Oil in the title.

We believe in fair fashion. Fair to the workers, fair to the planet and fair to you.

Our dyeing process uses recycled water and non-toxic, vegan dyes. Our factory runs increasingly on solar power. Everyone who touches your shorts is paid a fair wage. We're single-use plastic-free in processing and dispatch, and nothing we make goes to landfill. Returns are either resold or donated to charity.

The Recyclability

When your shorts eventually reach the end of their life, send them back and we'll make sure they don't go to waste by turning them into industrial components. If we receive a return we can't resell, we work with charities like Hey Girl to make sure they go to someone who needs them. Nothing we make ends up in a landfill.

The Value

We price on a fixed percentage margin. If it costs us more to make, it costs you a little more. If we find a way to save, we pass it on. No prestige markup. No logo tax.

Care: Always wash your Snags before wearing them the first time, this ensures no residual dye is left on them. Always wash your tights with similar colours as they may run in the wash. Tights and shorts can get caught in the drum of a washing machine, so always either hand wash or put them inside a pillow case or lingerie bag to protect them. Always squeeze dry, don’t tumble dry, and avoid direct heat as it degrades the stretch.
